Cluiche Beirte- Poncanna (An bhfaca tú? Chonaic / Ní fhaca)
In this game - Poncanna (Dots) learners play each other in twos. (i) Each is given a few minutes to observe a picture card. There is a copy of same picture given to each payer. (ii) Then they take turns asking each other questions about what they saw: An bhfaca tú uibheacha sa phictiúr? Chonaic. Tá an ceart agat. etc. (iii) When a player gives a correct answer s/he joins two dots on a grid of 9 squares. (iv) The first to capture more than half the squares is the winner. The game will develop confidence in both asking and answering questions in Irish. It will also serve the purpose of expanding vocabulary and consolidating the lesson objectives.
